Summer Camp

We take safety very seriously at TMC. We take the following precautions to keep our students safe each day:

1. Students read and sign (a simple:) Student Handbook with their parents, outlining expectations while at camp.  
2. We will go over these expectations every morning.
3. Students are checked in every morning.
4. Students must wear a safety bracelet, and school shirt or safety vest every time we leave TMC.
5. Teachers continuously count heads throughout the day.
6. Teachers will carry a backpack & first aid kit at all times when not at TMC, along with emergency contact information for each student.
7. We message parents via Brightwheel when leaving the school, we message when we have reached our destination, we message when we are leaving our field trip location, and we message when we have arrived back at TMC, so that parents know at all times where their child is. 
8. Protocols for using public restrooms are in place (A counselor must accompany the child, look in the stall first, and then wait at the bathroom door so they are able to see the stall door at all times)
9. Teachers are constantly aware of their surroundings, and cell phones are not allowed unless being used to communicate with parents, or in an emergency.
10. Water – When at Madison Park beach & Mounger Pool, two Teachers are in the water WITH the kids, while the others are constantly watching our students. Life guards are also on hand at both locations. Students who can not pass a swim test must stay in the smaller pool and wear a life vest.
